William Degouve de Nuncques

William Degouve de Nuncques (1867-1935) is one of my favourite Symbolist artists. He was born to an old French family, and was brought up in Belgium. He was encouraged in his artistic career by his eccentric father, and quickly became associated with Symbolist and Bohemian circles. I love how there is always something unsettling about the landscapes he paints.
